The death toll in the disaster with a migrant boat off the Syrian coast has killed 94 people, Syrian state television reported. Earlier this week, the death toll was 77, but bodies washed ashore again on Saturday.
At least twenty people on board survived the accident. According to the survivors, there were a total of about 120 to 150 people on the boat. The vessel departed from Lebanon for Cyprus on Tuesday morning. The boat is said to have sunk 45 kilometres north of the Syrian island of Arwad. The first bodies and survivors were found by Syrian fishermen. They have warned the authorities in the Syrian port of Tartus.
