A 50-year-old man in Huay Yai begs a thief to return his stolen wallet because in front of him is a priceless photo of his son, who has been missing for 20 years.
50-year-old KhunApichit Jaruensuk, a maintenance engineer by profession, told the local press about the theft and presented camera images.
On camera images, a man in a red shirt steals the bag of Khun Apichet, this brutal theft is said to have taken place in the sub-district of Khao Maikaeo before the thief takes off with a pickup.
At the time of the theft, Apichet was repairing a washing machine in the store, Apichet had left the bag near what he was repairing.
I was repairing a washing machine in a car wash behind a PTT gas station. I put my bag nearby on a white cupboard, just a few meters away I was doing my work. The moment I stood with my back to the closet, the thief struck, I have now reported it to the Huay Yai police.”
The worst part, Apichit told me, is that in my wallet in the bag was one last photo of my son who has been missing for 20 years. This is the only photo I have of him and it is invaluable to me. I don’t care about the money or the other stuff in the bag. I don’t even care about filing a lawsuit, I just want this photo to come back.
If anyone recognizes the man on camera footage who stole my bag or you are that man, please contact the Huayyai Police at (+66) 38100713 and be a man and return the photo to me.”
Huayyai police, meanwhile, have reviewed footage and traces of the pickup truck the suspect used to leave the store area and said they are steadily continuing their investigation.
