The Sattahip Police Department received a call from the Sum Saew restaurant that a man refused to pay for his beer and food and was holed up at the nearby Burapha Resort.

Colonel Phaiboon Laohanawat of the Sattahip Police went to the scene and saw the plainclothes man donning a monk’s robes.

According to his Thai ID, it was Phra Mahasomphop, 42, but he would not say to which temple community he belonged.

Phra Khru Winai was invited to a nearby temple, Wat Thepprasat Taothan, to rid the errant man of his saffron-coloured robe.
