Game of Thrones Prequel Premiere Crashes HBO Max

Must read

Game of Thrones fans were packed yesterday to watch the first episode of the prequel to the series, House of the Dragon. Unfortunately, some viewers were disappointed when the streaming service HBO Max seemed to crash again and again. Angry fans made themselves heard on Twitter.

HBO Max is under the parent company Warner Bros. Discovery. They indicate that millions of subscribers of the streaming platform have successfully watched the first episode of the new series. It would only have gone wrong with a small number of users. They used, according to a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Discovery an Amazon device to watch HBO Max.

The Dutch did not suffer much from the outage. The first episode of House of the Dragon appeared online in New York at 9 p.m. With us it was then 3:00 am, so Dutch fans probably didn’t watch in large numbers. Still, the outage caused a storm of complaints on Twitter from disappointed fans.

House of the Dragon is the prequel to the popular Game of Thrones series. House of the Dragon takes place almost two hundred years before the events of Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones has become huge hype. When the last episode came out three years ago, it was watched by more than 19 million people. The prequel to the series is based on the book Fire & Blood by George RR Martin, who is also co-creator and executive producer on the series and is about the Targaryen family.
