Large parts of Thailand have a very wet week ahead
Most of Thailand is expected to be hit by heavy to very heavy rain from today until Wednesday, the Thai Meteorological Institute said.
The forecast is that scattered heavy to very heavy rain is expected in the north, northeast, east, south and central region, including Bangkok and the surrounding area
The TMD also predicted waves of 2-3 meters high in the Andaman Sea and 1-2 meters high waves in the Gulf of Thailand. During thunderstorms, the waves are expected to be higher.
The institute added that the low-pressure area in the upper South China Sea will intensify into a tropical storm from Sunday to Monday and move to lower China from Wednesday to Thursday.
The TMD has urged people to watch out for flash floods and landslides.
Ships in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf have been advised to proceed with caution and avoid entering areas with thunderstorms, while small boats in the upper Andaman region must land during the period stay.
