Special security forces have shot three suspected insurgents in Songkhla

Must read

Special forces killed three suspected insurgents yesterday at a house in the Jana district of Songkhla province.

The firefight broke out after the insurgents opened fire on the troops to evade arrest. The officials had summoned a religious leader and relatives of the insurgents for negotiations, but these efforts failed.

The three killed insurgents turned out to be Sattha Awae, Surin Kaseng and Jeerasak Pengloh. Officers found a sniper rifle, an AK35 assault rifle and a revolver in the house at the scene.

This group of insurgents had long caused unrest in Songkhla, especially in Na Thawi, Jana, Saba Yoi and Thepha districts, local officials said.
