The countdown to the reopening of Koh Samui has also started

Must read

On the paradisiacal island of Koh Samui in the southern Gulf of Thailand in Surat Thani province, all relevant authorities are preparing for the launch of the so-called “Samui+” model on July 15.

Based on the “Phuket Sandbox” model launched last Thursday, Koh Samui is now also looking to reopen to international tourists, but also here to those who have been fully vaccinated against Covid19.

The “Samui +” model is similar to the “Phuket Sandbox” model but has some differences.

For example, international visitors to the island have to spend the first seven nights in an ALQ (“Alternative Local State Quarantine”) hotel. While they are allowed to go to the beach and excursions on fixed routes or so-called “sealed routes” from the fourth to the seventh day, on the seventh day they can check out from the ALQ accommodation and move into a hotel of their choice, which is provided by the Amazing Thailand Safety & Health Administration (SHA), was awarded the “SHA+” seal.
