The chief of police of the southern Thai island of Phuket has said the suspect in the murder of 57-year-old Nicole S. has admitted to the murder and robbery.
Evidence against Theerawat Thorthip of Banglee (age 27) is still being collected before being presented to prosecutors.
The suspect is being held in Phuket prison, the Daily News reported.
Police Major General Saksira Pheuak-am thanked the 16 private organizations that donated 200,000 baht to police investigators and medical personnel for their work on the case.
The Swiss tourist was found dead at the Ao Yon waterfall last week after walking from her hotel. The arrest took place two days after the body was found.
