A 13-year-old girl in Bangkok allegedly kicked a man to death and claimed he stole her phone.
Khan Na Yao police were informed over the weekend that a man was found dead in front of a building in Khlong Sam Wa in the capital.
The man had several bruises on his chest and was identified as 49-year-old Cheud Khunsantia.
Suphakit Sainamyen, a 35-year-old witness, told police he saw a girl kick the victim at a supermarket in the presence of an elderly man.
He spoke to the couple and asked about the reason for this brutal beating, the two said Chued had tried to rob a phone.
The police later found the two suspects based on their description elsewhere in the city, it would be a Laotian man Sorn Siriwandee, between 35 and 40 years old, and a girl (whose name and surname have not been released).
The girl told police that Chued had entered her room last week and stole her phone. When she saw the man again, she decided to take revenge by kicking him like a rotten. Sorn also took part in the alleged attack. The report did not clarify the relationship between the two people.
At first, the police do not believe this explanation. Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crime.
