220 Thai teens arrested in Saraburi nightclub illegally opened

A group of 220 teenagers were arrested early this morning at a famous local nightspot in the Nong Khae district of Saraburi province, the youths are said to have been guilty of gathering, violating the Covid19 measures and using illegal drugs.

A member of the Nong Khae police arrest team, who arrived at the venue under the command of Saraburi Provincial Police, said the venue had previously been ordered to be closed by authorities in Huai Sai Sub-district. This raid came about after they were warned by an anonymous concerned citizen who feared the spread of the Covid19 virus, he or she informed the police that there was a large group of teenagers who were drinking drugs and alcohol under loud music. were entertained.

An inspection found young men and women dancing to the music and taking drugs without social distancing or wearing masks under current Covid19 measures in Saraburi and Thailand. Nong Khae police said many customers hurriedly tried to throw drugs away and fled as soon as the police came into view.

About 220 people, mostly teenagers, were detained and taken to Nong Khae Police Station for an initial background check, while a number of e-cigarettes and various narcotics were seized, including ketamine and crystal methamphetamine.
