Bangkok Electricity Company Denies Ownership of Power Cables Widely Covered by Russell Crowe’s Twitter Post

While Russell Crowe’s tweets caused a stir on Thai social media while filming his new movie in Thailand and garnered praise from Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and Phuket Sandbox authorities, one group was not nearly as enthusiastic about it. his messages and that was………The Metropolitan Electric Authority in Bangkok.

The MEA has now released a self-defence statement after Crowe posted a photo captioned “Bangkok Dreaming” depicting Thailand’s infamous tangle of sparking electrical wiring.

The post had generated thousands of comments and retweets with the hashtag “Welcome To Bangkok” trending, although many meant the greeting after the fact. The photo was used to simultaneously welcome the actor and deliver barbs to Thailand’s poorly managed electrical grid and infrastructure.

You will understand that the MEA in Bangkok was not amused. They posted a response to the tweet and especially to the negative comments from Thai people. In their rebuttal, they claim that the tangle of cables in Crowe’s tweet was not under the authority of the MEA.

They say that in fact, the wires are not even electrical or power cables. But didn’t clarify what kind of wires they were, let alone who was responsible for them.

The statement promised that the MEA takes safety very seriously and that any problems or problems with electrical wires or power cables should be resolved by contacting the MEA directly.
