A body has been found on a plane flying from Amsterdam to Istanbul. An investigation has been started by the Royal Military Police and the Turkish authorities, various Turkish media reports.
The body was found in the plane’s landing gear that took off from Schiphol on Thursday evening. Three hours later, the plane landed in Turkey, and a maintenance inspection was carried out, after which the body was found. The Turkish police immediately cordoned off the aircraft for further investigation.
CONCEALER OR ACCOMPLICE
According to Turkish media, the person who could be a stowaway or an employee probably climbed aboard the plane on September 10. This may have happened during a flight taking off from Banjul airport in Gambia. The aircraft then travelled to more than ten destinations across different continents, including Europe, Asia and Africa.
There are no details yet on the victim’s identity.
