Bruce Willis has decided to end his acting career. His eldest daughter, Rumer Willis, made this known via Instagram yesterday. The actor suffers from a language disorder.

“Bruce has been having health issues lately and was diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” his daughter said. As a result of the condition, the 67-year-old actor is ending his career “which has meant so much to him”. Rumer thanks fans for their condolences and support during this difficult time for her family. “We are going through this as a strong family and wanted to share this with you because we know how much Bruce means to you, as you do to him.”

Aphasia is a brain disorder that affects a person’s ability to speak, write and process information. The condition comes in many forms and often occurs after a stroke or head injury. People with aphasia have trouble finding the right words or find it difficult to understand what their conversation partner is saying.

Bruce Willis started acting in the late 1970s and was seen on the big screen for about forty years. In the early years of his career, the actor mainly had small roles, but only really broke through with his role as police officer John McClane in the action film Die Hard. In addition, he has also appeared in films such as Pulp Fiction, Sin City, and Glass.
