Must read

Chris Rock lashed out at Will Smith in his Netflix special Selective Outrage . According to the comedian, everyone knows why Will Smith slapped him at last year’s Oscars: “It had nothing to do with me. His wife was fucking her son’s boyfriend.” It is the first time that Chris has spoken out extensively about the incident.

Chris saved the Oscars topic for the end of his show. “You all know what happened to me: I was beaten by Suge Smith ,” said the comedian, referring to Suge Knight, the infamous former record executive of Death Row Records. “Everyone knows. Yes, everyone knows what happened.”

It turned out to be the start of an already legendary roast. “I was beaten by this motherf***** at the f****** Oscars. People ask me, ‘Did it hurt?’ Bro, it still hurts. Like I’ve got the drums from ‘Summertime’ ringing in my ears.” Despite the unexpected blow, Chris said that he does not want to present himself as a victim. “You won’t see me crying on Oprah. For me to say, ‘I can’t believe what happened, when I love the movie ‘Men in Black’ so much. No, that will never happen.”

Although Chris does not want to portray himself as a victim, he made it clear how cowardly he thinks Will Smith’s action. For example, the comedian said that Will is much taller than him and it was not a fair fight. “Will Smith takes his shirt off in most movies, but you’ve never seen me take my shirt off. Even if I’m having heart surgery in a movie, I’m still wearing a sweater. But still: I took that punch like Pacquiao motherf***** ,” said Chris, referring to professional boxer Manny Pacquiao.

Chris’ comparisons to Suge, Oprah and Pacquiao turned out to be just the warm-up for the real story the comedian wanted to share. “Will Smith suffers from selective outrage (translation: selective outrage – the name of the show, ed.). Anyone who really knows what happened knows that I had done nothing wrong to that bastard. I had no ‘ entanglement ‘ . But his wife was fucking their son’s boyfriend.”

He was interviewed by the person who cheated on him, like, “Hey, I was sucking someone else’s head, how did that make you feel?”

With his statements, Chris referred to the affair that Jada Pinket Smith had with August Alsina. Will and his wife Jada published an interview in 2020 in which she tells him about her intimate adventure with the August. “Look, normally I wouldn’t talk about this sort of thing. But for some reason these people decided to put that nonsense on the internet. I honestly have no idea why two talented people would do such a damn stupid thing. What the f***!?” , says Chris about the conversation between Will and his wife Jada, in which she tells him about her affair with the artist.

Chris continued: “We’ve all cheated. Everyone’s partner has cheated. But none of us have been interviewed by the person who cheated on us, like, ‘Hey, I was sucking someone else’s head, how did that make you feel? ‘ Why the hell would you do that man? It shows that she hurt him a lot more on live television than he hurt me.”

According to Chris, Jada gets away with the whole situation “very easily” . He shares a story about her requesting him not to host the Oscars in 2016. “I shouldn’t have hosted because her husband didn’t get a nomination for his role in ‘Concussion’ (translation: concussion, ed.), the worst movie ever. Isn’t she really the culprit in this whole situation? Why isn’t anyone pointing to her? And then that motherf****** gives me a f****** concussion. What the f***, man!?”

During the special, Chris also said that he did not see the blow coming, because he has always had a lot of love for Will. According to the comedian, he had no wrong intentions. He called Will’s move a “b*tch move” . “I supported him from the beginning. I loved this man all my life. But now I watch ‘Emancipation’ (a movie in which Will plays a slave, ed.) To see him tortured.”

Finally, Chris responded to the people who ask him why he did not respond after the blow. “Because I have decent parents and I was well brought up. And you know what they also taught me? That we shouldn’t fight in front of white people anyway.”

Netflix announced earlier this week that Chris would speak for the first time about the much-discussed incident during the Oscars. Before that, the streaming service had announced something unique: the show was initially only broadcast ‘live’ and was not immediately added to the Netflix library.

Millions of fans worldwide were glued to the tube yesterday to see how Chris would bite off. The comedian made a joke about Jada’s hair loss at last year’s Oscars, noting that she looked like she was preparing for a role in a military film.

Will laughed at the joke at first, but then marched on stage and punched Chris in the face. The actor then returned to his seat and started yelling at Chris from his seat, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f****** mouth!” The much-discussed incident led to Will being banned from attending the Oscars for the next ten years .
