The appeals court has upheld the death penalty for former schoolmaster Prasittichai Khaokaew, who early last year shot and killed three people, one a child, and injured four others while robbing a gold shop in Lopburi province.
The appeals court refused to reduce the requested sentence because of the inhumane nature of the crime.
The shooting took place on January 9, 2020, when 39-year-old Prasittichai robbed the Aurora gold shop in the Robinson department store of Lop Buri.
He shot and killed a mall security guard, a two-year-old boy walking with his mother and a woman employed by the gold shop. He also injured four other people.
The man-made off with 33 gold chains worth about 600,000 baht.
