The day before yesterday, a Thai woman jumped to her death from the Phra Khanong BTS station in central Bangkok after she reportedly lost her job after contracting Covid-19.
Klong Tan Police Station officers and rescuers attempted to resuscitate the woman, who had suffered serious head injuries, before taking her to hospital, but she died on the way.
The victim was later identified as Khun’s. Nongnuch (last name not stated) at age 38.
Police also reportedly found two notes on the woman’s body. The first one addressed to her parents said, “I don’t know what else to do. Since I contracted the Covid virus, I lost my job.
The other note addressed to a police officer to victim Phi Muad read: “My future is now ruined. Please come pick up my body. I surrender to fate.”
