Don’t Look up trailer: Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence try to save the world in Netflix satire

Must read

What if you have proof that the earth is going to be destroyed, but no one believes you? That’s what Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence are dealing with in the new Netflix movie Don’t Look Up. In addition to the two protagonists, the rest of the cast consists of only big names. For example, you see Jonah Hill, Meryl Streep, Rob Morgan, Timothée Chalamet, Kid Cudi and Ariana Grande pass by in the action-comedy.

In Don’t Look Up, DiCaprio and Lawrence play two astronomers who have discovered that a devastating meteor is on its way to Earth. They just don’t seem to be able to get that message across. The president of the United States does not think action is necessary and the two are also laughed at on news channels. The louder the scientists sound the alarm, the more they turn into viral and meme-worthy crazies to the outside world…

The film is the work of director Adam McKay, known for Vice and the Oscar-winning The Big Short. According to critics who have already seen the film, Don’t Look Up is a promising title that could win many awards. Will it be as much of a hit as Bird Box, the record-breaking Netflix movie that came out around this time three years ago?

Don’t Look Up hits theatres on December 10 and can be seen on Netflix on December 24.
