Father of teenager shot in Bangkok files complaint, thinks gunman was a hooligan

The father of a 14-year-old boy, who was shot near Din Daeng police station in Bangkok, visited the police station to file a report against the unknown gunman.

Last Monday afternoon, the pro-democracy group Thalu Fah had gathered at Victory Monument in an attempt to march to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha’s residence to demand his resignation.

Riot police blocked the group in Din Daeng before a violent confrontation broke out.

According to reports, there was a rally in front of the police station after the protesters dispersed during the curfew. The 14-year-old boy was shot in the right shoulder as he passed the station on his way home.

Chunhawan homya, the father, said that his son is now on the mend.

The teenager told him that he had been attacked by a group of teenagers, but that they were not among the protesters. So the father believes they could be “hooligans”.

Chunhawan’s lawyer said the case is not difficult for Din Daeng police to solve as there are several CCTV cameras near the area where the boy was shot.
