Nintendo isn’t just known for its games these days; the movies of the game company are also doing well. After Sonic and Pac-Man, Nintendo now announces the third biggest film adaptation of a game classic: The Super Mario Bros. Movie. And although the trailer is still a while away, the first poster already promises a lot.

Although nothing is known about the story yet, it can be guessed from the poster that Peach is in trouble again. The castle of Peach is grandly depicted atop a mountain. Mario is staring at the castle in the photo. Various classic elements from the game can be seen around him. There are several Toads walking around and the road to Peach is full of colourful pipes (the main form of transport for the plumber).
The animated film is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic and is packed with the voices of famous actors. For example, Chris Pratt has been given the honour to voice Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy voices Princess Peach and we hear Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong.

Still, not all fans are happy with the poster. They wonder what happened to Mario. His buttocks would be much too small. There’s even a petition going around to re-curve Mario’s butt.

Mario’s behind has long been a serious topic among die-hard fans. There is even a book called Things I Learned From Mario’s Butt, which you can buy for 35 euros.
