Chonburi governor Phakkhrathon Thianchai ordered the closure of two businesses in Banglamung and Si Racha on July 2, 2021. Meanwhile, three markets in Pattaya are temporarily closed.
The closed businesses are;
- Yian Hai Electronics Company Limited’ in Thung Sukhala, Si Racha from July 2 to July 11.
- Huay Yai Jeen ice cream factory in Huayyai, Banglamung from July 2 to July 15.
Owners, employees and others involved have been ordered to strictly follow the order, some relevant agencies and officials will assist those affected who have been temporarily out of work and quarantined, regardless of their Covid-19 status.
Meanwhile, Pattaya city officials, after finding proactive cases of 1,450 people in three markets, namely New Market Nakla, Amorn Nakhon and Lan Poe Naklua, report that 37 people have been confirmed with Covid -19.
Authorities have ordered the temporary closure of New Market Naklua and Amorn Nakhon Market for three days and Lan Poe Market for one day.
This order was in effect from July 2, until further notice.
Pattaya Deputy Mayor Manot Nongyai told the local press: “We need to start disinfecting these markets and get the spread of the virus under control as soon as possible.”
“The biggest problem right now is that people are not getting Covid19 tests or are refusing to report symptoms of Covid-19 in hopes of isolating themselves instead,” Pattaya’s deputy mayor said.
The current plan, according to Manot, is to accelerate vaccination efforts in the markets and risk areas.
