Trat’s popular Koh Chang island is ready to welcome visitors, while hotels in adjacent Koh Kood are already fully booked for the upcoming long weekend.
Saksit Mungkarn, chairman of Trat’s Tourism Industry Council, said over the weekend that the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions has prompted hundreds of people to flock to the island.
Meanwhile, about 90 per cent of rooms in three- to four-star hotels in Koh Chang and neighbouring Koh Kood are booked for the long weekend of October 22-24. Saksit said Koh Mak, another island in the archipelago, is also showing good signs of recovery.
Citing a recent survey, he said Koh Chang is still one of the top 10 tourist destinations and the island is poised to welcome visitors as more than 70 per cent of residents will receive a double vaccination by the end of this month. for Covid-19.
