Mike Tyson, the former American boxing champion, has been charged with rape again. A woman accuses the former boxer of raping her in the early 1990s. This is according to data from a civil court in New York.
Tyson was found guilty of raping model Desiree Washington in 1992. She was then only eighteen years old. Tyson served three years in prison for this conviction.
The new prosecutor wishes to remain anonymous. “If I were to make my name public now, I would certainly run the risk of new mental complaints, embarrassment and ridicule.” In an anonymous short testimony, she explains that she would have met Tyson in a disco in the “early 1990s” . She followed him to his limousine, where, according to the woman, things went horribly wrong. The former boxing champion would have attacked and raped her there. “I said ‘no’ several times, but he kept going.”

The alleged victim says she has experienced “psychological and emotional suffering” for years. She, therefore, demands compensation of 5 million dollars (converted to about 4.6 million euros). The now 56-year-old Tyson himself has not yet responded to the accusation.
Tyson was better known as the Iron Mike, the undefeated world heavyweight champion between 1987 and 1990. Outside the ring, he made several appearances in television series after his boxing career. He had a role in The Hangover, How I Met Your Mother and Rocky Balboa, among others.
In the late 1980s, Tyson even had his own video game called Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! The old heavyweight was himself the final boss in the last level in this game.
