Two people were injured in Pattaya in an unprovoked attack by a group of teenagers with Molotov cocktail-type Molotov cocktails

Two people were seriously injured in a Molotov cocktail attack on a Pattaya beach in Pattaya, Matichon TV reported. The attack happened at 2:30 a.m. on Soi Potisan in the Naklya area, Pattaya police station investigator Major Pattanan Somnuan said.

Police and rescue workers who arrived on the scene found the victims, a 22-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both in severe pain and begging for help. The couple had suffered severe burns to the legs and chest. Medics immediately administered first aid and sent them to Pattaya City Hospital.

There was a strong smell of fuel at the scene. The victims’ motorbike was lying on the road covered in oil stains. Shards of a broken glass bottle with duct tape wrapped around it were lying nearby.

A woman who witnessed the attack told police she was riding her motorbike and saw a group of six to seven teenagers on four motorbikes near Soi Potisan. As the victims on the motorbike passed by the scene, a teenager from the crowd suddenly threw some object toward the couple and the youngsters were immediately engulfed in bright flames.

A witness added that she heard the sound of shattering glass as the group of teenagers fled after the attack.

Police examined CCTV footage in the area for clues about the perpetrators of the attack. According to the investigation, the victims did not know the attacker or other members of the gang. The victim couple was on their way home after leaving the pub and had no conflicts with anyone before the incident.
