Spotify has now become an integral part of the music industry as a platform. A new Netflix series sheds light on the origins of this huge streaming service. The Playlist is about a young entrepreneur who wants to change the music industry with a legal streaming service, aka Spotify. The new docuseries will be released on October 13 and Netflix has already released the first promising trailer.
In the series, you see how a group of young entrepreneurs from Sweden, led by Daniel Ek, come up with the idea of offering a legal way of listening to music. In an age of illegal music downloading, the revolutionary idea is met with much resistance, but the group of entrepreneurs is determined to change the music industry forever.
The Playlist is a fictional drama series about the creation of one of the largest companies in the world: Spotify. The series is based on a book called Spotify Untold. The role of Daniel Ek is played by Edvin Endre, also known from Vikings . His good friend and co-founder is played by Christian Hillborg. The series can be seen from October 13 and contains six episodes.
