Panic in Pattaya, when truck overturned 35 gas bottles flew over the road
On Monday there was a moment of panic when one of the tires exploded and a truck landed on its side, immediately after that, petrol seeped from the tanks and no fewer than 35 gas bottles were scattered on the road surface.
The terrifying accident happened at 11 a.m. yesterday, September 12, on highway number 7 as the truck was en route to Pattaya.
Pattaya Sawang Boriboon emergency services quickly arrived and found the truck lying on its side at a concrete roadblock with a broken rear tire.
The gas tank is said to have leaked in the accident.
About 35 gas tanks containing helium and carbon dioxide were scattered on the road after the vehicle was overturned and pulled over as they caused panic among drivers.
The 51-year-old truck driver, Songkran Petchsuk, was uninjured in the incident and said he was transporting the gas tanks to one customer in Pattaya when his tire suddenly exploded and his vehicle overturned.
The driver said he was very lucky as no one was injured.
