Police have arrested four suspects who allegedly admitted to stealing sewer grates in Nongprue. The suspects have reportedly admitted to selling these grids for 12 baht per kilo for the purpose of buying illegal drugs.

Nongprue police received word this week from local residents that many sewer grates had been stabbed near Soi Boonsampan Temple 12 and 14. Police confirmed that they had inspected CCTV and were able to track down the suspects through the correct identification of their vehicles and number plates.

On May 4, police finally managed to arrest four suspects aged 29 to 37. Whereupon, according to Thai law, a reconstruction of the crime was carried out in the afternoon.

All four bastards (sorry for my word use, but you’ll just be driving in the hole) admitted to stealing the sewer grates and selling them for 12 baht per kilogram, Nongprue police said.

Their urine test results were positive for illegal drug use, Nongprue police added, without specifically confirming which drug they tested positive for. The four men remain in police custody pending their upcoming trial, in which they intend to plead guilty to the crimes, the police concluded.
