Pattaya police have launched an investigation after a 2-year-old toddler tragically drowned in the pool at a villa on Valentine’s Day.
Colonel Kunlachart Kunlachai, chief of Pattaya City Police, told Thai media that police had decided to check CCTV footage of the pool villa on Pratumnak where the tragedy took place.
“The parents were cooking, socializing and barbecuing with a group of fashion models and other people by the pool when the incident happened. The father said he was rented in the villa for a photoshoot with the models, which was also shown in the images. The boy suddenly fell straight into the pool, after which his father decided after a while to pull him out of the water, which was too late for the boy, resuscitation was no longer useful.
We’ve gathered all the evidence at this point and have some questions, such as how it was possible that the boy fell into the pool, with many people around, and no one lifted a finger to get the boy out of the water.
The parents will be contacted after their son’s funeral for further steps in the future, the chief said.
