Must read

A very tasty record was set last week. The large restaurant chain Pizza Hut broke the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest pizza on January 18. Together with the help of YouTube star Airrack, the chain managed to make a pizza of more than 1300 square meters.

630,496 SLICES OF PEPPERONI

The basis of the gigantic pizza consists of almost 6200 kilos of dough and more than 2200 kilos of marinara sauce. This one is topped with 3991 kilos of cheese and exactly 630,496 slices of pepperoni. Because of its size, the Italian monster was built together meter by meter in the Los Angeles Convention Center.

After breaking the world record, the pizza was cut into bite size pieces and donated to various local charities. According to David Graves, president of Pizza Hut, they were able to get as many as 68,000 pizza slices out of the giant pizza.

10 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS

The pizza was mostly assembled by a team of Pizza Hut employees. They did, however, have some help from YouTube sensation Airrack, whose real name is Eric Decker, and his friends. Airrack wanted to honor its growing fan base with its partnership with the pizza chain.

” Thanks to my fan base, 2022 has been a big year for my channel,” he said in a statement. “I promised them we would break the record for the world’s largest pizza if they helped me reach 10 million subscribers on YouTube.” And the YouTube star’s fans have succeeded. “So I had to keep my promise.”

OCTAVIA

The previous record holders for the world’s largest pizza were five pizza chefs from Rome. In 2012 they managed to make a pizza of no less than 1200 square meters. The pizza was gluten-free and called Ottavia. Unfortunately, Ottavia only lived to be 10 years old.

SECOND WORLD RECORD

It is not the first time that Pizza Hut has managed to get a world record in the Guinness Book of World Records. In 2016, they set the record for delivering a pizza at the highest altitude on land ever. A delivery driver from the chain then delivered a pizza to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
