A spokesman for Bangkok’s metropolitan police station has issued a warning that only restaurants that meet SHA or Thai Stop Covid+ standards are allowed to serve alcoholic beverages until 9 p.m. or police will take immediate legal action.

Lieutenant General Samran Nuanma, of the Metropolitan Police Station, said the management of restaurants caught serving alcohol after 9 p.m. faces up to a year in prison and/or a 100,000 baht fine.

Pubs, bars, karaoke tents and massage parlours are still not allowed to reopen and operators could face the aforementioned penalties if caught, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration statement said.

All air-conditioned restaurants are only allowed to occupy 50 per cent of the seats, while open-air restaurants are allowed to do so for 75 per cent.
