Russian football team also not allowed to European Championship 2024
Russia will not participate in the 2024 European Football Championship in Germany. On October 9, the draw for the qualification of the final tournament, in which Russia is not involved.
UEFA has been consistent in its policy since the war between Russia and Ukraine. All Russian teams and clubs are banned from participating in international sports tournaments. That decision was already taken in February and since the situation has not changed, Russia is also banned from participating in the European Championship 2024.
Earlier, FIFA banned the Russian national football team from participating in international competitions, such as the play-offs for the World Cup. Russia had already qualified for the play-offs, but was therefore not allowed to play those matches to achieve participation in the World Cup. The Russians are there at the World Cup in Qatar, which starts in November, so not at all.
