Soi 6, a former private lane filled from end to end with bars and traditional massage parlors, is once again thriving with working girls, food, jewelry, and clothing vendors making their living from the bustling nightlife of this acclaimed Thailand beach town.
Asian and European tourists flock to the streets from early afternoon, some just for a drink or two, others for a lovely relaxing massage.
A beauty parlor worker, posing as “May,” said her earnings have increased as barmaids come in several times a day and night for her makeup and hair styling.
