At least 13 people have died in Europe as a result of storm Eunice. Many people were also injured by falling trees and flying debris during the storm.
A total of four people were killed in the Netherlands, three of which were in the Amsterdam region. All four dead-ended up under a fallen tree. Germany and the United Kingdom both report at least two deaths. A Briton died in Belgium and there were also deaths in Ireland and Poland.
In addition to fatalities and injuries, many households throughout Europe were also without power. In the United Kingdom, this was the case in as many as 400,000 households. Tens of thousands of households also lost electricity in Germany and France.
Storm Eunice was the heaviest in the Netherlands since January 2018, according to Weerplaza. Then it was a very severe storm, which was slightly smaller and was mainly limited to the northwest of the country.
