Thai government does not discriminate against foreigners in any way, says Labour Minister
Thai Labour Minister Mr Suchart Chomklin assured the assembled press this morning that the policies of Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha and his Deputy Prime Minister M. Prawit Wongsuwon do not discriminate against foreigners in any way.
The minister said his system for the health and well-being of foreign workers was efficient, up-to-date and adaptable to changing demands of the pandemic.
He told Thai Rath’s editorial board how this applied to migrant workers who, in his view, received assistance in all areas, as was their right and without any discrimination.
Examples include the hundreds of thousands of meals delivered to those quarantined in camps in Bangkok and surrounding provinces.
One ready-made meal per day is being reinforced to workers in 520 camps in Bangkok, of which 750,000 meals have so far been delivered, and a further 500,000 meals have been delivered to 797 camps outside the capital.
As for the testing of migrant workers, Mr Suchart that until yesterday, 38,140 migrant workers at Din Daeng Stadium had been tested and 46,451 had been vaccinated.
The minister said his ministry was working hard for the rights of all workers, including migrants, especially their vaccine rights and this was the general attitude of the entire government.
