On November the 9th in Banglamung, a 50-year-old man was arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a nine-year-old girl.
Huayyai police went to a wood factory to arrest the offender after Mr Eak, 22, and his 9-year-old niece had filled a sexual abuse report.
Mr Eak had reported to police that the girl’s uncle in law (Joe) had been abusing the small girl for about 3 months in a house in the Khao Maikaew sub-district. Mr Eak’s last name has been withheld due to privacy reasons.
“My father heard Mr Joe asked the girl to touch him inappropriately. So, my father asked my niece what exactly Mr Joe asked her to do.” Eak explained.
“My niece said Mr Joe asked her to remove her clothes before conducting acts consistent with child sexual abuse. By doing these, she was allowed to play with his mobile phone and get 20 baht for snacks.” Eak added.
“He has allegedly done this to her many times especially on Mondays as it is his day off,” Eak concluded.
Police had requested an arrest warrant for Mr Boonlert Sawangtham (Joe), 50, at the wood factory in Khao Maikaew where he was arrested
Joe is now facing quite a few changes in regards to this alleged sexual assault, however, Joe didn’t immediately comment on the charges and it is also not known if he has obtained a lawyer.
