Thai police chief sends officers out of the office to work from home

The Chief of the National Police of Thailand, General Suwat Jangyodsuk has ordered half of the officers at police headquarters to work from home after at least 42 officers tested positive for Covid-19.

The capital Bangkok is currently experiencing a rapid rise in the number of infections. The general has also directed units across the country to take the same action as needed.

Police spokesman Yingyos Thepjamnong said the agency consistently adheres to government regulations on disease prevention.

City police regularly advised Bangkok’s shops and businesses on Covid prevention measures and prevented people from violating Covid restrictions through 24-hour security patrols.
