The Thai cabinet has approved the State Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) plan to gradually reopen the country to foreign travelers.
The plan will shorten the quarantine period to seven days for fully vaccinated tourists in Phuket, Krabi, Phang-nga, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai, government spokesman Khun Anucha Burapachaisri said last night.
From July 1, vaccinated tourists can visit Phuket without quarantine.
From October 1, the quarantine for vaccinated foreigners in Krabi, Phang-nga, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai will be suspended.
According to the government-approved scheme, Thailand will lift all quarantine restrictions for foreign travelers next year.
