Must read

The Royal Thai Police spokesman has clearly acknowledged that prostitution does indeed exist in Thailand, but Polite General Major Yingyot Themjamnong did not use this name, he used the euphemism of “sathan borikan”. But that means massage parlours and places where “Happy Ending” happens in the kingdom.

He said his boss, General Suwat Chaengyodsuk, has ordered crime-fighting actions in the new year to stop the spread of Covid virus 19 in such places.

A few years ago, one police chief in central Thailand claimed that the kingdom has no prostitution at all. The reality is that there are hundreds of thousands of women and men working in this industry.

General Yingyot said the action at “Sathan Borikan” was an ongoing problem, but it would worsen as many people moved and went out on New Year’s Eve amid the easing of regulations, INN reported.

Facilities that violate the law will be prosecuted, closed and their licenses revoked.

He urged the public to call speed-dial 1599 to report violations.
