Thailand’s emergency decree has been extended for the 13th time

For the 13th time and from August 1 to the end of September, the cabinet has extended the emergency decree.

The emergency decree gives Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and his government extraordinary powers. This should also bring the coronavirus under control throughout the country.

Critics of the emergency decree claim it was decided for political reasons, for example, to suppress criticism of the government.
