Thai newspaper “The Nation” reported that a temple crematorium in Bangkok had reportedly collapsed due to the pressure of cremation of so many corpses recently.

The photos of the collapsed crematorium at Wat Bang Nam Chon Temple in Thonburi were published yesterday by an adviser to the Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Jirasek Wattanamongkol.

The photos showed a large crack in the crematorium base and a collapsed chimney. Over the past 25 years, the crematorium cared for an average of three corpses a day before falling apart.

The temple is estimated to need more than 5 million baht to build two new crematoria, a temporary one for the Covid period and a permanent one.

Mr. Jirasek told that those who want to donate money, this can deposit to Kasikornbank account number 724-2-24539-8
