Airports of Thailand Plc, AOT for short, announced yesterday that slot reservations for international flights have increased 10 per cent since Thailand reopened the country on Nov. 1 to vaccinated visitors.
According to AOT’s report, international flight slot reservations increased by 1,518 flights from November 1 to December 31, from 15,614 flights reserved before November 1, bringing the total number of confirmed international flights for the entire year to 17,132.
Hey AOT also reported that flight slot reservations jumped from 7,649 to 9,483 flights in December, a 24 per cent jump from the previous month.
Furthermore, the AOT attributed the increase in international flights to rising demand for travel during the peak season around the end of the year.
In the first week of this month (1-8 December), AOT registered a total of 2,159 flights or an average of 270 flights per day. This number is 7.6 per cent higher than the average flight in November with 251 flights per day.
