The situation in Chonburi went from very good to very bad in just a week

Two major outbreaks in a market and migrant shelters pushed the number of new Covid-19 cases in Chonburi province to 335 yesterday, the highest number since the start of the most recent round of infections in April.

The city of Chonburi was responsible for 263 new infections, Sattahip 26, Sri Racha 18, the Banglamung district with the city of Pattaya 7, Pan Thong 6, Phanat Nikhom 4, Ban Bueng, Bor Thong and Koh Chan 3 each. in another province. Yesterday, the Administrative Center for Covid19 Control, the CCSA, reported another 35 deaths and 4,059 new infections within 24 hours. Of these, 75 were in prisons. The total number of infected people since the outbreak of the pandemic at the beginning of last year rose to 225,365 and that of the dead to 1,693.

Since the start of the third wave of virus in early April, there have been 196,502 infections and 1,599 deaths in Thailand. Bangkok topped the list of newly infected people with 1,154 cases, followed by Samut Prakan (696), Chonburi (335), Songkhla (293), Samut Sakhon (250), Pathum Thani (211), Nonthaburi (169) and Nakhon Pathom (162).

In the past 24 hours, a further 152,809 people received their first Covid-19 vaccination and 74,830 people the second. This brings the total number of doses administered in Thailand to 7,906,696.
