The Thai Cabinet gives a discount on water and electricity consumption in the months of May and June

At a cabinet meeting held yesterday, measures were approved to help ease people’s financial burden amid this new wave of Covid-19 by cutting electricity and water bills in May and June, a news source of the minister said. know.

“Those using less than 150 units of electricity per month will receive a fee waiver in May and June for the first 90 units (for residential users) and 50 units (for small businesses),” the source said.

“Meanwhile, water bills for residential and small business users will be cut by 10 per cent over two months.”

The cabinet estimates that these two emergency measures will cost the government around Baht 10 billion.

Yesterday, the cabinet also approved more cash spending through the Covid relief schemes of Rao Chana and Rao Rak Kan. Each person who successfully registers for the schemes will receive a total of Baht 2,000 by the end of June, according to a source familiar with the matter.
