As of today, the freedom of movement of people in the 13 provinces classified as dark red has been severely restricted. According to Dr Taweesilp Visanuyothin, spokesperson for the State Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), police officers are constantly present at checkpoints.

Motorized vehicles wishing to pass through these checkpoints must present the required documents, including the QR code if they have registered at https://covid-19.in.th.

Freedom of movement for people in the 13 provinces is limited until at least August 2, while those wishing to visit the dark red zones must have a valid reason and be screened upon entry.

These 13 provinces include Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom, Chonburi, Chachoengsao, Ayutthaya and the southernmost provinces Narathiwat, Pattani, Songkhla and Yala.

The population in these maximum control zones is urged to work from home and avoid unnecessary travel. There is also a curfew from 9 pm to 4 am.

“We will go full throttle for the next 14 days,” emphasized Dr. Taweesilp.
