The images that go through your head are terrible when you consider what must have happened, but fortunately, it ends well. Police in Louisville, USA, has released a video showing the rescue of a 6-year-old girl who was dragged into a car on the street.

It happened last Friday on the street, where the girl was playing. A car drove by and the driver pulled the girl into the car, several eyewitnesses described in American media. They saw it happen and were able to alert the police.

They gave the license plate and a description of the car and chased the kidnapper for as long as they could.

The police immediately rushed to full force and the car was quickly located. Within half an hour the car had come to a halt and the officers were able to get the girl who was unharmed from the car. Police released these images, taken with the bodycam of one of the officers:

The 40-year-old driver of the car has been arrested. He said in a statement that he “wanted to drive back when he realized that what he was doing was wrong.”

He faces a prison sentence of between 10 and 20 years.
