Vaccination in Thailand – free for foreign tourists

Thailand has resumed its free vaccination campaign against Covid-19 amid the expected arrival of a large number of Chinese tourists

All residents of Thailand are urged to get vaccinated against the cornavirus or get revaccinated due to the expected increase in foreign tourists, especially from China, the Thai Public Broadcasting Service urged.

The recommendation particularly applies to people over the age of 60, people with chronic diseases, pregnant women, those who weigh more than 90 kilograms, young children and those who have not been previously vaccinated.

A number of provinces in Thailand have seen an increase in the incidence of Covid-19. For example, the northeastern province of Nakhonratchasima reported more than 600 cases and 14 deaths last week alone, most of whom were unvaccinated.

Vaccinations in Thailand are free for Thais and foreigners at public hospitals and health centers throughout the country.

People in Bangkok who want to be vaccinated with Pfizer vaccine can come to the Institute of Dermatology near the Victory Monument or make an appointment in advance. The institute offers free vaccinations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 12, 13, and 16-20.

Those who received their last dose of vaccine more than four months ago are encouraged to get another vaccination.

Other free vaccinations are available at the Ministry of Health’s vaccination center every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Bangkok Youth Center in Din Daeng on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at the Department of Health Service centers every Wednesday and Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Siriraj Hospital also offers free immunizations at the health screening center every weekday from 1 to 3 p.m., for people over the age of 18. This service requires pre-registration through the Siriraj Connect app, and vaccinations are limited to 200 per day. Pre-registration begins on Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In other provinces of Thailand, vaccination services are available at provincial health offices, district hospitals, and local health centers.
