Violent clashes between police and anti-government protesters have arrested several activists in Bangkok

As police and anti-government protesters clashed in Bangkok, some activists were arrested. At 4 p.m., police set up riot squads on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road I’m and blocked the protesters with three water cannons.

At 4:30 p.m., as more protesters showed up, they reportedly began throwing fireworks, ping pong bombs, torches and Molotov cocktails at police officers, who responded by firing rubber bullets and firing tear gas.

At 6:56 p.m. riot police used a water cannon car to drive some of the protesters back to the Pracha Songkhro intersection, but most of them stayed with Sam Liam Din Daeng in a fight with the police.

At 8 p.m., more protesters gathered at Din Daeng Flat, who reportedly threw small bombs and Molotov cocktails at the officers.

At 9:15 p.m., riot police withdrew behind container fences on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road as protesters continued to throw objects at them. Two members of the press are said to have been injured by fireworks.
