The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand has released an updated list of vaccines recognized by the Thai government under the reinstated covid requirements to go into effect

Deputy Prime Minister, who also serves as Minister of Health, Anutin Charnvirakul announced on January 5, 2023 that all foreign nationals arriving from any country must show proof of at least two vaccinations against covid in order to be allowed to enter Thailand.

On January 6, 2023, an updated list of vaccines recognized by Thailand was published on the website of the Thai Civil Aviation Authority.

Among the 16 types of recognized vaccines are two Russian-made vaccines, Thailand recognizes two doses of Sputnik V or one dose of Sputnik Lite for entry into the country.

A complete list of recognized vaccines and the number of doses needed to enter the kingdom is in the image below (click to enlarge). You can download the original PDF here, as the Civil Aviation Authority website is not available at the moment, probably due to an influx of visitors going to Thailand soon.

In an accompanying notice, provided only in Thai, the department explains that foreign nationals arriving in the country must receive their last covid vaccine injection at least two weeks before leaving for Thailand. All vaccinations must be given in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, including the time intervals between injections.

All persons 18 years of age or older arriving in Thailand must present a “Certificate of Vaccination” or other proof of vaccination. Children under 18 years of age are exempt from this requirement.

Travellers who have recovered from the covid virus must present a medical certificate confirming that they have been infected. They must also fully recover for at least seven days – but no more than six months – before traveling to Thailand.

It should be noted that the notice does not specify when the new provisions will take effect. The health minister said that the return of requirements for entry into Thailand “should” take effect before Chinese tourists are allowed to enter the country, which comes into effect just after midnight tonight, January 8.
