Whoopi Goldberg only wants to do ‘Sister Act 3’ with Maggie Smith

Whoopi Goldberg has begged her colleague Dame Maggie Smith to participate in the third installment in the Sister Act series. The leading actress made her plea on Friday on the British talk show Loose Women.

The now 88-year-old Maggie played the role of Mother Superior in the previous two films. “We can’t do it without you,” Whoopi pleaded on the talk show. “Tell us what we have to do to convince you, this role is and will remain yours.” Whoopi herself played the role of lounge singer Deloris, who started a new life as a nun.

The first Sister Act movie was released in 1992 and was immediately very successful. The second part, Sister Act 2: Back In The Habit, was released a year later. This film also attracted many visitors to the cinema. In December 2020, it was announced that a third part is in the works for Disney +. It is not yet clear when the film will be released.
