The Thai health ministry reported a new record of 188 Covid19 deaths and 20,200 infections in the past 24 hours this Wednesday morning, Aug, 4.
There were 20,013 cases registered among the general population and 187 among inmates.
Yesterday, 17,975 Covid19 patients were declared recovered and were allowed to leave the hospital.
Since April 1, when the third wave of Covid19 arrived, there have been 643,522 Covid patients, of whom 428,380 have recovered. And since the pandemic started early last year, 672,385 Covid19 infections have been recorded, of which 455,806 have recovered.
The death toll was 5,409 in the third wave and 5,503 as of the start of the pandemic early last year.
The previous one-day high of Covid-19 cases was with 18,912 infections last Saturday as the country also surpassed its previous record of 178 fatalities.
